Role Overview

At MENxNATURE, we're not just embarking on hikes; we're spearheading journeys of self-discovery. As our Overnight Backpacking Guide, you'll be at the heart of these transformative treks. This isn't your everyday guide role—it's an opportunity to forge profound connections, leading small groups of men through the breathtaking terrains of Colorado. You won't just be teaching outdoor skills; you'll be igniting fires of camaraderie, facilitating impactful discussions, and helping each man channel his inner explorer. Key Responsibilities:

 

1. Guided Trips: Lead 3-day, 2-night backpacking excursions in Colorado, ensuring safety, coordination, and a memorable experience for all participants.

2. Skill Instruction: Teach essential outdoor skills, including fly fishing, camp setup, and basic survival techniques, tailored to the group's experience level.

​

3. Group Leadership: Foster a supportive and collaborative environment, initiating and moderating discussions that encourage personal growth, community, and introspection.

​

4. Route Planning: Utilize expertise in Colorado's terrains to choose and adapt routes, considering factors like weather, group fitness, and specific learning objectives.

5. Continuous Learning: Stay updated on best practices in guiding, fly fishing, and outdoor education, ensuring MENxNATURE offers top-notch experiences to participants.

QUALIFICATIONS

​

1. Expertise in the Colorado Outdoors: Demonstrated experience in leading multi-day backpacking trips, with proficiency in route planning, group safety, and outdoor survival techniques.


2. Fly Fishing Mastery: Proven skills in fly fishing, including knowledge of Colorado's aquatic ecosystems, techniques, and equipment.


3. Group Leadership: Proven ability to manage and lead small groups, fostering a cohesive team spirit, facilitating discussions, and handling conflicts with diplomacy.


4. Certifications: Relevant certifications in outdoor leadership, wilderness first aid, or related areas, ensuring safety and credibility.
